Spring has to be my favourite season. I never tire of watching the garden come alive. Spring flowers and plants provide a wealth of subjects for painting. I can hardly keep up. The texture of the terracotta pots, sphagnum moss and the patina on the table provide a good contrast to the simplicity and newness of the miniature tulips and narcissi.
The painting is beautifully framed in solid ash, hand painted in Farrow and Ball ‘Shaded White’; face width 3.5cm and depth of 2cm. A deep bevelled, acid free Minuet mount in antique white of 3500 microns thick adds to the simplicity of the frame to compliment any interior.
